Dr. Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2020. During his clinical year, he was the 2020 recipient of the Dr. William Magrane Clinical Ophthalmology Award. Prior to Illinois, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Northern University in 2014 and a Master of Science in biology from Northern Illinois University in 2016. At NIU he instructed several anatomy and biology courses while researching the dental anatomy of carnivorous animals native to Madagascar.

Dr. Taylor grew up just outside Columbus, Ohio. He moved to Illinois for school in 2014 and is now a proudly converted Illinoisan. Outside of work he loves to run, hike, and take his kayak out on rivers and lakes. When he can he enjoys traveling abroad, primarily to Germany where he has extended family. He is also an avid fan of football, baseball, basketball, and European soccer.

Dr. Taylor’s clinical interests include cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and emergency medicine. His priority is to practice high quality, compassionate medicine and to form positive, working relationships with owners to promote happy and healthy lives for their pets
