Dr. Spinelli joined the Kremer team at the Animal Care Center of Plainfield in May of 2016. She has a particular interest in client education in addition to a growing passion for surgery – both soft tissue and orthopedic. As a veterinarian, Dr. Spinelli works to be an enthusiastic, caring practitioner. Her promise to pet parents who entrust her with the health of their companions is to deliver compassionate, state-of-the-art veterinary care because she believes trust and education of clients are equally important as delivering the highest quality attention to patients.
An alumnus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for both her bachelor’s degree and doctorate, Dr. Spinelli proudly wears orange and blue on any occasion. Originally, she began her undergraduate career as a physics major, but a strong passion for animals and medicine lead her to graduate with a degree in animal science with a pre-veterinary concentration. She also loved being part of the Women’s Rugby club team during undergrad. After graduation, she eagerly accepted a seat in the college of veterinary medicine and graduated with honors.
Outside of work, Dr. Spinelli loves spending time with her husband, Stephen, their two dogs, Chief and Bandit, and their Chinchilla, Bean – all rescued critters. On her days away from the Animal Care Center, you might find her inspiring others to make healthy life changes as a personal trainer or out for a run with the dogs. She also enjoys field sports; watching the Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks; obstacle races; and road trips with Stephen to visit friends and family from coast to coast!
